TDT Project Officer Jonathan Pace writes after a recent visit in August 2011: "It is an area of very low educational attainment and the project is aimed at better educational attainment in a cut down curriculum and vocational training to provide employment prospects in local trades. Drop out is very high in schooling with a high girl pregnancy rate. Many children are identified as vulnerable children, orphans, abandoned and some disabled.. In vocational terms they plan to offer courses in Tailoring, Computing, Carpentry and Masonry. A small group of local teachers are prepared to work in the evening voluntarily to teach the basic curriculum, the Ward Education Officer will also be head of the school."
