Type: COMMUNITY- WOMEN'S INCOME and SUPPORT
Goodness is a women's organisation, set up in 2006 and entirely run by women. It seeks to address the problems where the "number of divorced and untimely widowed women has increased. These divorced and pre-matured widowed women, losing their husbands, basically lose their shelters. They pass terribly shocking and unsecured lives in society.”
Goodness Organisation aims to convert these women living in great poverty into a "work force". "They will be motivated to stand on their own feet by raising their social awareness, developing practical skill training in beekeeping skills. We believe the project will bring opportunity to empower women to have their own income generation activity (by producing honey) to help them meet their basic needs and their families…"
The training will be done by an independent beekeeping expert who has worked in Apiculture in the District Natural Resources Office – Beekeeping Department.
